Why Join Both the State and the Chapter?
State dues pay for ASCCA’s staff and its lobbyist and association attorney, Jack Molodanof. Among other member benefits, every ASCCA member also gets 30 minutes per month with Jack to discuss any matter they choose. State membership is required in order to join a Chapter.
Chapter dues stay in the Inland Empire. They’re how we keep most chapter events free for members and keep bringing quality programs to local shops. You can join at the state level only, but adding Chapter 14 is what keeps local programs going in the Inland Empire.

Why Join the Inland Empire Chapter?
Training you can use the next morning. Each month we bring in experts on the issues IE shop owners deal with. Recent programs include:
-
BAR & smog program updates: what the new inspection system and DAD 2.0 mean for your equipment, licensing, and techs
-
Sales tax compliance with the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA): parts, labor, sublet, invoicing, and resale certificates
-
Employment law updates: new notices, leave, and emergency-contact rules shared before they take effect
-
Digital vehicle inspections (DVI): hands-on training with tablets to raise your ARO and close rates
-
Service advisor training: how to turn estimates into approved repairs without pressure tactics
-
AI & Google workshop series: bring-your-laptop sessions on using AI and Google Workspace for SOPs, marketing, and running the shop more efficiently
-
CPR training for shop owners and staff
Meetings every third Thursday. We meet at California Smog & Automotive Institute, 3001 Chicago Ave., Riverside. Pizza and networking start at 6:30 PM. Can’t leave the shop? Join the program on Zoom at 7:00 PM.
Most events are free for chapter members.
Access to the statewide ASCCA network. Chapter 14 has co-hosted joint events with ASCCA San Jose (Chapter 42) and ASCCA Peninsula (Chapter 23). We also share other chapters’ meetings with our members as we hear about them. Chapter 14 members are always welcome at other chapters’ meetings, and each chapter sets its own pricing.
People who know your market. Meet nearby owners, techs, and vendors, trade ideas with them, and swap stories.
Local opportunities. We share opportunities as we learn about them, such as small business grants from local cities, government agencies, and other donors.
Giving back. Every holiday season we partner with the Children’s Fund of San Bernardino to collect toys for children of all ages. Many of our shops also support the SkillsUSA California Mechanical Light Repair and Automotive Service Technology competitions at the regional and state levels. Technical chair Samantha Tracey, Owner of Scotty's Auto Repair in Riverside and a long-time member of the ASCCA Inland Empire, leads those competitions.
Time to enjoy it. Our annual Holiday Party and chapter social events keep the “community” part of the business going.
Visiting as a guest? You can attend two meetings as a guest. After your second visit, we ask you to decide whether to join ASCCA and Chapter 14.
